BARDON AGGREGATES KITS OUT LOCAL SCHOOL
St Deny’s Church of England Infant School in Ibstock is the proud owner of new health and safety clothing for its pupils following a generous donation made by Aggregate Industries’ Bardon Aggregates business which operates Bardon Hill Quarry at Coalville.
Headteacher at St Deny’s School, Jane Sharp, contacted Bardon Aggregates to see if they could recommend a good supplier of high visibility vests. To save the school the expense of this safety clothing, Bardon Aggregates kindly offered to donate 40 of its own branded vests instead. Commenting Mrs Sharp said, “We are absolutely delighted with Bardon Aggregates’ donation. The vests will be used to offer greater visibility for the children when outside the school gates, whether they are walking in the village or on a school visit.”
Trish Adams, Works Secretary at Bardon Hill Quarry, visited the school Friday 3rd March to hand over the vests at the school’s morning assembly. She said, “Playing an active role in the communities in which we operate is central to our whole outlook. We were therefore only too happy to help the school by donating the vests, which will help to improve safety.”
Aggregate Industries’ Bardon Hill quarry, one of the largest in the country, sits in the centre of the company’s operations in the Midlands and is a key landmark for the local community. Bardon Aggregates is actively involved in a number of initiatives encouraging visitors to find out more about the quarry and its plans for the restoring and increasing the biodiversity of the surrounding area.
