Natural stone from Bardon Aggregates quarries has been used
for centuries for the construction and detailing of a wide variety
of buildings and architectural decoration. Its appeal for architects,
builders and masons lies not just in its durability, but in its
attractive and varied colours, and the ease with which it can
be worked.
Sandstone, also known as "Millstone Grit", from our
Waddington Fell Quarry is ideally suited for use as masonry stone
for new build and restoration work, stone for walling, cills,
window headers, jambs, mullions, quoins, fireplaces and other
features. This quarry's stone is unusual in that it is possible
to gain yellow/buff, pink/red and veined stone in each colour
combination from the same quarry.
Finished stone is produced to designers' specifications and
a full in-house take-off and estimating service is available.
At Waddington Fell Quarry we have a great deal of experience in
working with masons and restorers of many different types of old
buildings. This experience guarantees customers a sympathetic
approach to any special requirements they may have regarding finish,
weathering, etc.
Walling stone is available banded, wrapped and palletised for
ease of transportation and use. Pallets are numbered for location
at the correct place on site. It can be supplied split faced or
pitch faced, to any size. Sawn slabs (sawn two sides) are also
available. The stone can be delivered anywhere in the UK by our
own transport, a collection facility is also available.
